If you have not put a password in from first load of 98 just hit enter key when you see log in. Cannot help on IE as I am Netscape

Apart from altering registry isnt there a setting in TweakUI to autologon

so apologies if the detail is slightly wrong...

What you need to do is CHANGE the password. You do this through Start>Settings>ControlPanel>Passwords

Change the password such the "new" password is nothing, i.e. leave the box empty.

This means that subsequently you wont need to enter a password... in fact the password screen wont even appear.

I'm not sure about your second question

Good luck.

Go to Internet Explorer/ Tools/ Internet Options/ General tab/ Clear History. Also set the Clear History to 1 day.
Hope this helps.
