Garbled sound in Live Messenger on a netbook

  panyards 10:50 08 Mar 2010

I treated myself to a Samsung N130 netbook recently. All is well and a great device except in making a web call (Video or sound only) the incoming sound is garbled and has a delay of nearly a second. I've tried the set up in messenger and all other options I can think of but no luck.
Someone out there knows the answer, please share it with me.

The problem could of course be 'at the other end of the line', perhaps made worse by the distance/country/etc involved. I sometimes use Skype to chat to friends in India (from UK), speech delay is quite normal, as is sometimes garbled speech.

PS - you m9ight find Skype is better than Messenger!

I wondered that myself so I made a video call to my desktop PC and the problem was still there.
I also wondered about Skype so loaded it an hour ago and yep it works great. So what's the problem with Live Messenger??

I don't know what the problem is with Messenger, simply because I have never used Messenger. I use Skype a lot!

I think that answers the question then.
Many thanks
