I know that with a CRT monitor you have to load a driver for that particular model. What type of monitor is it CRT or LCD?Hvae you load the driver from the floppy or CD supplied?

Try the refresh rate setting for the resolution you have selected 17 monitor should be ok at 1024x768 32 bit at 75-85 Hz refresh if it keeps saying out of range the refresh is prob set to high, would be good to know what g card you have might lead to more advice,if you dont have the driver for the monitor try it as a plug and play monitor type these usually work ok,better than default monitor setting.
