Within the next week or so I'm going to be going for a new AMD 64 system, price wise I'm looking around £400 & using some of my old bits (dvd, floppy & hard drive etc), my problem is this:
I also have a 128mb Gainward geforce fx5700 ultra (ultra 960 tv-dvi) fitted in my current system, it's an agp 8 card and can easily play far cry, half life 2 and need for speed underground 2 etc, do i put the card into the new system, or do I buy a newer card?, if so which one ?

Although the fx6600 is a newer card is it better than the gainward ?.

Lastly would i be right in thinking that my x8 agp card would fit onto a socket 754 and skt 939 mobo, regardless of whether the mobo had pci express or not ?.

Your new system would support either AGP or PCI Express. Not both.

Wot about the card, replace or keep ?

If you want to be able to upgrade your new setup in the future I would personally recommend a PCI Express motherboard with a new card.
