Fuse in mains cable

Can anyone tell me the correct type of fuse to use for a replacement mains cable for my pc.Someone said it should'nt be anymore than a 3AMP fuse, is this correct?Thanks.

A 3 Amp fuse will be good up to about 700 Watts power consumption.

That should cover any computer tower.
