i am trying to install xp on a new sata drive on a fujitsu amilo m1437 laptop. however it tells me there is no hard drive. i no there is and its ok because i tried installing vista on it which worked fine but dont have a coa for vista.
i understand the need to load sata controler drivers on pressing F6 during intstall however this asks for a floppy which isnt available
so do i get round this ?

USB Floppy Drives are quite cheap, and useful to have for emergencies.

PS - if you mean the Floppy Disk itself, rather than the Floppy Drive - perhaps you could download it from the Fuji site.

i understand a usb floppy drive wont work or i could simply put the driver on a flash drive
i do have the driver but the only option to load it is from a floppy disk

why not? I don't have a floppy drive on my pc, but have on several occasions connected a usb floppy drive.

Add sata drivers, Xp + service packs to a slipstream CD.

Oops forgot the link on how to do it click here

XP doesn't recognise a USB floppy when installing it. Fruit Bat /\0/\ idea is the best way. Nlite is supposed to be pretty good for creating a slipstream disk click here

Hi, my XP (SP3) has no problem recognising my USB floppy drive and disks.

Do you mean when you install windows it recognises the floppy?
