Extensive delays are expected to all train services through York after a lightning strike took out the entire train signalling system.
Trains from Doncaster or Leeds have been unable to go into the station. Other trains are terminating at York.

Train travellers are being advised to go to the station but expect delays to local and East Coast Mainline services.

The lightning strike followed storms in the area just before the morning rush hour. No-one has been reported hurt.
