Frequent Standby is Damaging?

Hi there,

Does frequently putting a laptop on standby and coming out of it possibly damage it and shorten its life span?

Probably the standby, recover, standby, recover method of economy has negative effects, but it does save a lot of battery power for me.

Please tell me

Nope.

The standby system is designed for its purpose and will be unlikely to affect your laptop.

It's switching computer systems on and off that does harm because of the impact, over time, on the components.

That's why it's best to leave them on for as long as possible before switching off.

Thanks,

So this means that frequent on-offing will harm the system, but frequent standbying won't, right?
