I have a CCL XP system which is just over a year old. There has always been a soft whirring noise from the machine but lately, this seems to get louder the longer the machine is on and often changes to an unpleasant grating noise.
From time to time this whirring, grating noise becomes really loud. At that point, the computer freezes. (It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing at the time but I notice it usually happens when I'm using the internet).
The only way to unfreeze the system seems to be to turn it off at the button. However, when I restart it there is a message on the screen warning there's no signal. I have to switch off again and restart with the button when everything seems to work properly again.
This routine seems to be required with increasing frequency. Can any lister suggest what is going wrong please?
