Free Pop3 email anywhere?

Are there any free pop3 email providers around? I have an account with btopenworld, but can't download into OE. I also have lineone and virgin, but though I can download, I can't use their servers to send messages (via OE) because I don't subscribe to them as an ISP. Any ideas please?

I can't use mt lineone or btopenworld accounts to send, because the smtp function is disabled if you don't have that email provider as your default isp (at least I think that's the reason). What have you entered as your smtp details on yours?

For some reason, hotmail doesn't allow me to send out from Outlook Express either. 5'll give hotpop a try and see if that works. Thanks for that one Mike.

That's what I'm beginning to believe. I've just tried hotpop, and that won't allow me to send email as a free subscriber either.
