Formatting USB flash drive causes PC to switch off

  DougL 16:57 20 Apr 2017

Hi, I have a SanDisk Cruzer Edge 32Gb USB flash drive that I have been using for some time without trouble. I've just tried formatting it using NTFS with the quick format box unticked. It started formatting but was taking a very long time. I left the PC working and went out. When I came back the PC had switched off. This same thing had happened a couple of days ago while I was testing the stick with H2testw, however that time I was using the PC when it died. My PC has never died before while I've been using it so I think the problem must be with the USB stick, but what is happening, please? Cheers, Doug
