I have bought a Packard Bell Club 600 for my grandkids to use,it is 5years old.The previous owner installed XP.PRO. as an upgrde over the 98SE.O,S,.I would like to start from scratch, can I Format the H.D.and install a new XP.HOME O.S.would there be any problems?is it just a matter of installing the new O.S.?
Thankyou for any help.

Just set the bios to boot from CD. Then follow the instructions.

Tis will wipe the hard drive and install a new copy of XP.

This will help. click here

Do you have all the drivers to hand? Do you have the original recovery discs?

...if you do a clean install of XP, you will have to install all programs again. This may not be of consequence as you are giving it to the kids - just understand that any software on the disk now will not be accessible after clean install.
