Format pen drive

  Paddylad 22:37 09 Jan 2010

I recently bought a pen drive and found that it;s set up in FAT32. Can I change that to NTFS?

Yes. Through Disk Management, in the normal way.

Why do you wish to?

Is there any point unless you're dealing with files > 4Gb? Also, Playstation 3 and other devices use FAT system, which is more universally compatible, is it not?

You can also right click on the drive and select Format then select NTFS in the drop down menu. But it is better to keep FAT, click on Restore Default Device to maintain the pen default.

Thank you all very much for your advice. I didn't know I could use it in FAT 32 as my PC is formatted in NTFS. I will leave it as it is. Again, thanks.
