If you have the win2000 installation disk, then insert it into the cd drive and restart your system....

Then look out for the "press any key to boot from cd..." message and press a key!!!

This will boot the system from the disk!!! Then just follow the on-screen instructions to format the drive (normally press "enter"->"F8"->"d"->"L"->"enter" to format and re-install windows!!!

*********NOTE: You MUST have "boot from cd" option enabled in the BIOS for this to work***************

Boot with the Windows CD and choose R to go to the recovery console. At the prompt type in

format x:

(where x is the drive letter you wish to format)

Hit Enter

That is too complicated!!!! If you use the setup's way it does the same thing only with a "user friendly" manner!!!!

I thought I reconised those commands!!! They are the commands you have to use to format a system using a Win98 start-up disk (floppy disk)...

Those were the days...lol

What I said??? If you want to format one partition then you just simply select the one you want and press d->l->enter.... and it will format the partition and install windows onto it (if you don't want to install windows, then when it starts formating remove the disk from the drive and when the formating has completed it will allow you to quit (press F3 twice))
