Form Creation in NetObjects Fusion MX

  ventanas 10:05 03 Mar 2004

I have been trying to create a page with a simple form on it using this program. Just check boxes, name, address and email. In the page view all looks fine. I have used the align buttons to get everything tidy, but when I preview in IE the text is out of alignment with the check boxes, and gets worse the lower it goes down the page.

Please can anyone help. I must be missing something.

One of the easiest ways to control form layouts is to put the elements of your form into a table.

When you use the NetObjects form area tool to create the form on your page a pop-up box appears offering several options for the form structure and layout. Try using the "Create form in a table" option then select the number of rows and columns required for your form elements.

You can hide the table border to prevent people seeing it but use its natural positioning ability to control what goes where on your form.

I should have added that if you go to Site view, right click on an existing page and select Insert Template, you can drop a pre-built form in from the Forms folder where several templates are supplied with NetObjects.

No point reinventing the wheel if you don't need to.

Thank you very much. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I havn't been near a machine today. Been having a thrilling time at a FAST workshop.

I had seen the option of using tables and will give it a try tomorrow, or try a template.

Again, thank you.
