My PC has started looking for information on floppy discs, this can happy at any time, whether on the internet and just reading a news item, bringing up a new page, Or using a picture editor and loading a new picture from the hard drive, the floppy has activated whilst I have been writing this memo, and another time it will alway search the floppy drive is when I am looking at Zone Alarm and click on Program Control, also occurs with the computer just idle. At all times the floppy drive is empty.

The Bios is set to look at the CD ROM first (D) Hard Drive second (C) and the floppy last (A).

This is a relatively new occurance.

Can any one help Please.

Anything new been installed? Check in Device Manager for conflicts.

This can also be caused by a Word document, for example, being loaded from a floppy. The PC may keep checking to see if there is anything else.

some time or another you must have taken the disk out before it had finshed, load a disk, open up the contents, go to "file" "close" and then close the "A" drive down...

Sometime AVG scan floppy for virus. Just a guess.
