just installed floppy drive - not replacement. PC does not acknowledge disk when inserted. I have added A drive to bios. Devices/driver says all ok.
Any ideas?

Roland. Are you sure you have not reversed the floppy lead?

Normally there is a red marker running down the lead. This should connect to pin 1 on the floppy.

If it has been reversed, normally no damage will be caused to the floppy drive.

Hello again Roland.

Go back into your BIOS and check the following.

First boot device floppy.

Second boot device (0).

Other than this and my previous suggestion, I must leave it to our more knowledgeable members out there.

Bios --- Enable FDC controller

Windows --- check for driver in device manager.
