Fitted USB on old computer

Fitted new USB1 card to old 233mg computer 128 ram
windows 98se, reconised and says working properly.
However when connect digital camera can see extra
drive and jpeg's but wont let me download to computer, or cut and paste to my documents etc.
Camera ok on another computer. What have I missed.
or am I asking too much Thanks

If you can see the camera snd the "drive" it shows as, and the pictures on it - I can't see any reason why using Explorer you shouldn't be able to drag and drop them onto your hard drive.

There's nothing odd about such a procedure, or different just because it's from a camera.

PS - you won't be able to Cut and Paste directly from the camera (as Cut involves a delete in the camera) - but Copy and Paste should work OK.

Probably a silly question, but have you put the gateway software onto the PC?

Dave some old motherboards won't handle usb properly whatever add-on cards or software tweaks you try. The main culprit here is the VIA MVP3 chipset. I recently rebuilt a friend's computer with a Syntax SV266A motherboard and 1.3G Duron (about £50 total cost) for just this reason.
