is there a way to find out if there is a firewall operating on my computer by an isp or something, i have not installed one myself

  recap 16:27 05 Feb 2003

You need to install your own firewall on your system for any to work. And I would highly recommend that you do get one installed.

If you are using Windows XP, it has it's own built in firewall, go to control panel/ network connections/properties/ advanced & see if firewall is ticked
