I am about to "let go" of McAfee. I am running AVG8 on a PC running XP SP3. The windows firewall is of course switched on. My question is
Is this enough? If not what firewall is compatible with AVG 8.

I am also running SpyBot Search and Destroy and Windows defender. Secunia PSI (RC4) is keeping my programmes up to date.
Thanks in advance

I've never had any problems with the free version of ZoneAlarm. click here

I can second that - have used ZoneAlarm for many years on various systems. Presumably you have already "let go" McAfee AV when running AVG8.

I use Commodo - free - with free AVG 8, XP SP3, and Superantispyware. Had paid for Bullguard suite but somehow got a bad virus, so now have the above following advice from this forum and my local PC repair shop.

Comodo firewall has a good reputation and isn`t too complicated:

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you taking the time.
Looks like I'll start with Zone Alarm with Comodo as a back up.

Sea Urchin - AVG ran OK alongside McAfee, but only the firewall part. This is why I am letting it go.

Only use one firewall at a time elae they will conflict with eachother.
