Firefox update

I had an on-screen message yesterday offering me a Firefox update. Naturally I clicked on the link to install and waited. I expected the machine to close and reboot but that didn't happen, so I assumed that it had somehow updated. Today there was an on-screen telling me that the update had not been completed??? Later this evening another message appeared, once again telling me an update awaits. Once again I clicked on "install" and, once again it did not close down. Have I received the update....haven't the foggiest. Can anyone help?

If you close firefox down and then restart it, the update should take effect, without having to re-boot the computer.
Failing that go to `help` on menu bar and click on check for updates.
The latest version is

The update is now two or three days old. See:

There's also a new version of Thunderbird available at the same website (it's even quicker to do so from this website than Mozilla)!
