Firefox Screen

There's a small letter x in a red background on my Firefox home page, previously clicking it on sites seemed to revert the page backwards.I now notice that it's very often labelled "Untitled" and when I click it I just get a blank page.
I'm wondering if this is the reason I've recently been unable to download a Metoffice widget, as the box that appears before downloading, also says untitled. Can anyone advise please?

I think you are talking about the Tabs in Firefox. When you open a new tab, it is normal for a blank page to appear and the red x as you described - at this point you should type in the URL address in the address bar at the top, then press Return and the page should then appear in that blank tab.

I think you are looking at one of the 'tabs' which are at the top of any open page. If you click on that 'tab' it will close that page and display any other page that is currently open. If that is the only tab it will show just a blank page. Try holding down the Ctrl key and 'T' key together and you'll see a blank page.

I clicked on your link and the page immediately appeared as normal.

In Firefox, go to Tools>Options>Tabs and put a dot in the option 'Pages should be opened in a new tab'.
Then click on your own link above!

Yeah the page appears, can you get the gizmo---I can't. You select a region, then "Go"..then download Firefox gadget. For me, it won't, I just get the download page over and over.

Don't forget to click on OK when you done the above.

This is what I got when I chose my Region and clicked on Go ... click here
