Finding the right replacement graphics card

  zafira 15:02 20 Sep 2003

I need to replace an AGP graphics card in an old compaq desktop computer. The problem is that the metal part that shows on the outside (I don't know what its called!) is small and square-ish, not the thin rectangle that fits a tower case. What am I looking for and does somebody still stock these possibly discontinued components?

motherboard? (or compaq make will help), operating system?
A better description of the "square-ish metal part" will be helpful too, are you talking about a connector?
