fdisk /mbr HELP !!

  PhilK 23:04 28 May 2003

I installed Mandrake linux on a 2nd hard drive, to dual boot with my XP home. But when I went back after what i thought was a relatively succesfull installation (ie it refuses to install printer or scanner, but the internet's fine - what Im on now) I got a horror of a shock - a blue screen of death, saying "unmountable boot error" I tried a floppy to start it same result. I have many moons ago been told you put in the "applications and support CD (my comp is a Medion) and boot from CD go to C: and type fdisk /mbr and I'm not sure if it was the same problem, but it worked. So - have I got it right or would it be more sensible to wait until tommorow and talk to Medion ?
