Fastrack Controller

  FareRam 18:44 07 Dec 2003

Decided to build my own PC without any formal training!! When PC is booting I get a message saying "No IDE devices are connected to the Fastrack Controller". Have checked a number of times that there is power to both HDDand CDROM. They are both attached to one lead which in turn is attached to "IDE1" on my motherboard.

Is this a common fault? What is the Fastrack Controller? Can I access it from the BIOS?

I don't know much about this situation, but it seems as if a Fasttrack controller is used for RAID setups - when you have two disks running together. Do you have a second hdd you can connect so that there are two when you try to boot.

PS few of us have any "formal training" (in computer building at least...).
