Is there any way to get failed hard drives to work again?
No.Apart from a miracle. You could install the drive as a slave and see if you can see it through Windows. But a fail is a fail. How did it fail?
I have a 20gb which had read and write errors and then wouldn't boot up. And a laptop HD, which wont start up.
If you have a Maxtor HD you can download a test program from their website. You load it to a floppy and it checks it out.Other HD manufacturers will probably do their own version.I've used the Maxtor before and it is very good.
Maxtor was my replacement, the 20 is fujistu, and i dunno 4 the laptop.
