What operating system?

Make modle of PC?

Do you get an error message?

That depends on a lot of things. What computer make is it. What O/S you are running. What BIOS you have. How is it set up. What hardware you have installed and when did it start asking you to press F4 etc...

Ok so you have XP SP2 home on a Intel Celeron

What make and model of PC eg packard bell, dell, evesham, gateway etc.

DO YOU GET an error message??? other than press F4?

  ed-0 18:11 25 Mar 2006

from your details you have an intel motherboard.

Having to Press F4 at post signifies that you have a problem with the chasis intrution switch on the motherboard. Page 116 of here.click here and click here

I think you may have to clear the log in the bios?

  ed-0 18:32 25 Mar 2006

Enter the bios and go to the advanced tab. Scroll down to event log configuration and select the clear event log. Also change event logging to disable. Save settings and reboot.

Has this cleared the problem?

Sorry to have been so long in responding but I had to go away on business. Cleared event log and disabled event logging but this has had no effect.
