I have a 500gb Samsung M3 portable external hard drive. I connected it to my Samsung tv ue48h6700 which formated the drive and I recorded a program on it but when I connected the external hard drive to my pc it comes up with: "You need to format the disk in drive I: before you can use it" I thought that Samsung tv format was ntfs or am I missing something?

No it will be ext2 or ext3 a Linux format

A lot of TVs will read write to Fat32 (4G limit applies) and only read from NTFS not write.

To get your file off the linux drive you need a ext2/3 reader for wndows

Thank you for the reply, which I can accept. On my Samsung smart tv under emanual I have just looked and it says: "The TV supports the FAT, exFAT and NTFS file systems" but this must only apply from the pc to the tv, but I can't find any mention about EXT2 or EXT3, I think their information is poor on this matter. Anyway thanks again.
