Hiya, just trying to get my girl an external floppy drive. She's got a laptop and getting an internal one for it costs an arm n a leg. She need to transfer data from other pc's to her laptop. Anyway, she can't connect to the network, and they don't have a use drive for her to plug in her usb disk.

does any one know anything about them?

If there is not much data she could use a serial or parallel cable between the PC and laptop.

See Ebay for laptop floppies ::click here=

This summer I bought from Dabs a LaCie USB external floppy drive for a friend. It worked fine!. Cost about £35 all in.

Technoworld - click here may be able to offer you something. You can get external USB drives - not clear from your post if the laptop has USB ports.

What make laptop is it?

it does have usb it's an IBM thinkpad. She's got a UBS disk but she can't use that at some of the terminals she works as they don't have usb.

Anyway... just ordered a Mitsumi external floppy drive from ebuyder for £25 inc P&P.

Thanks all.
