Hi,
I have an external Lieton DVD drive that i have used for over a year. I had an error with a trial version of BlindWrite and now the DVD drive isn't recognised at all. Even when i put a new DVD in there and go to My Computer nothing will show?
Please can someone help?
Ah, and now i have the same problem i had a week ago where i get redirected everytime i click on a link. I ran the various scans and it found them....but now they're back?
and now, when i've switched the burner off and on, it's recognising it again! Grrrr.
Switch off system restore
run your scanners and delete the offenders
reboot and re run the scanners if free switch system restore back on.
If the DVD is then missing post back here.
Hi,
I've just checked and, strangely, system restore is not switched on, im 90% sure that it always was. Is this a symptom too?
Not sure.
Nasties can hide in system restore and a lot of scanners cannot access the restore file to find them, that's why its best to switch it off to delete the restore file.
DVD Drive may be conflicting with hidden devices
Unplug all USB devices (except mouse / keyboard)
Usb device view will show all USB devices, uninstall any shown NOT connected
then plug the drive in again windows should find and reinstall it.
