Excel yet again

Hello everyone,
can anyone help on this please.
It is an Excel spreadsheet that I am trying to get as good as I can.

At present column B is a numeric value
column D is a numeric value
column E is a formula B-D

What I would like to do is change this so that

B is numeric
E is numeric
I can enter the formula in column D OK but it creates a loop as I cannot seem to clear the formula from column E without losing all the entries.

If I understand correctly, select all of Column E, Copy then Edit > PasteSpecial and tick Values. This will replace the formulas in column E with the values and remove the circular reference.

Thanks VoG, brilliant, I now have to make only one entry in one column and the other 14 including the date do themselves.
So what is the next step(-:

Thanks Ray

"So what is the next step(-:"

Sorry - I don't understand.

I can see why you do not understand this, the next step can only be no entries at all but until we have thought recognition software this wont be.
But what about voice recognition incorporated into excel.
That should give you something to think about but I think this is possible using existing software.

Not good at explaining this but you click for example on on P88 and say 450 into the mike.
