Folks,

A wee query here.

I have 1000s and 1000s of number in a format of 12-34567-89123-0 in an excel file.

However i want to delete the last number in all of these cells(in this case the the '0') if possible by using a formula.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Stevie

the formula that you need to miss out the last digit is;

=LEFT(A1,(LEN(A1)-1))

this says, in English;

Look up the LEFT and LEN functions in help for an explanation.

Good luck,

sorry I was about to explain it in detail, and my wife came in, so I wanted to finish the post quickly...

If you need a further explanation post back!

Regards,

Simsy
