I have a coloumn with a countif formula, which returns the number of a certain item in a row. Is it possible that when it returns a zero value I could add to the formula to make the cell blank?

Set conditional formatting to the cell to say that if the value=0 set the text to white (hiding the value).

Format\Conditional Formatting....

Hello

An alternative to fitshase's solution, if you want the cells to actually be blank, would be to add an IF forumla to it - so if the value=0, make it return a blank, or "".

For example, if the previous formula was [=COUNTIF(A1:A5,1)], add [=IF(COUNTIF(A1:A5,1)=0,"",COUNTIF(A1:A5,1)].

Hope this helps.

Tools>Options>View and Untick "Zero Values"

This is a setting for Excel as a whole, not just the worksheet.
