Setting up encryption key for wireless router,what i am allowed to use,ie 7ty87ngg63 or can i use symbols like #=+\ as well and mix them.

You can use any symbol,its WEP encryption where you can only use letters and numbers.
WPA/WPA2,use any symbol you like.

I am using WPA2 so i will mix them,just another point it says 8-63 char so is advisable to go to the limit of 63 characters or is that overkill.
