euro sign

  Heimdall 20:21 21 Jan 2006

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am new to the forum. I have a US sourced Sony Viao laptop, and am trying to figure out how to type the euro sign. I can go to Character Map and c&p, but this is very tedious. On my desktop computer Alt + 0128 will do the trick, but it doesn't work on the laptop. Any suggestions?

Try AltGr and 4 if you have the Alt Gr key

No, I don't have an AltGr on the US keyboard. I also tried holding the Ctrl + Alt keys down, and tha didn't work either. Buying from the US saved me some money, but I guess there are some disadvantages.

Alt Gr my be to the right of the Space bar.

No, just an ordinary Alt key

I did try it anyway, but no luck.

Try <Ctrl><Alt><4>; it works on my keyboard €

Tried that too. Thanks for all your suggestions, though.

Have a look in Character Map. If your fonts have the character you should find the key combination.

Have you tried looking at the number shown on the character map and typing that in? Remember you must use the numeric keypad to enter this number for it to work
