Just wrote an email which would not send, message from Win Live Mail (something to do with unicode) saying the message would not open properly in its present form.

I had entered a € (euro)symbol in the text and when I deleted the symbol and wrote it as a word the email was sent OK

Why shouldnt WLM recognise a € sign?

Thanks for looking

The € sign is not recognised as a standard character by Windows Live Mail. The message gives you two options - send as Unicode when it MAY NOT be recognised by the recipient if their system does not support Unicode - or send "as is" when the non-standard character MAY NOT display correctly.

I've just carried out various tests - using both sending methods - and the € character arrives safely in both cases.
