I run windows xp, I have just updated my drivers and now I cannot connect to the internet using my ethernet connection.
Go to device manager and roll back the driver then reboot. Why did you update in the first place?
How to get to device manager in XP
Did you use one of these driver update programs? If so don't, if it ain't broke then it don't need fixing.
Thanks Rdave, could you explain how to do thisI have found device manager, but cannot see anything labelled ethernet port or any indication as to how to roll back the drivers.
Have a look under Network Adapters. Find your ethernet device (mine is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller), right click it and select properties, under the 'driver' tab you should see the tab for 'Roll back driver'.
thanks folk I have it sorted. I have also learned my lesson and will not fix problems which do not exist.
PLease keep up the good work in helping others
