Ethernet gender?

hello - need to get a ethernet joiner to extend my cable but ive learned by looking for one that there are genders for the ethernet cables - im not sure what gender mine is so im asking how to find out?

In short male connectors have pins females dont.So the bit you push in the hole is male lol.

i cant find any pics that show a difference!!!! any text info anyone could give me or a pic of a male and female ethefrnet cable together????

Standard ethernet cables will have a plug on each end, as such are male/male. You could use an RJ45CP coupler to link two cables click here, but I'd be tempted to just buy a long enough cable from ebuyer click here I've never been a fan of daisychaining data cable.
