Ethernet connection isn't recognised by my PC

  chrisjmat 00:01 20 Jul 2008

I'm running windows xp and using talktalk broadband. When I connect the Ethernet to my PC the socket lights up but does not show in my internet connections. I can connect via a USB hub. I have tried the modem and cable in a notebook which works fine. Any advice why my PC fails to recognize this Ethernet connection?
Any advice would be welcome

XP might be able to re-instal without the driver. If not try the network card manufacturer website for the latest version.

Switch modem off then back on and wait for 2 minutes before you use it.
