I want to connect my wireless cable router using ethernet, I get an error saying that I need to change my ethernet card settings from static to dynamic, how can I achieve this? TY

I don't quite understand how you propose to use ethernet (which is cable based) to connect to a wireless router.

You will need wireless devices in the individual systems, surely.

If you mean the IP address then in XP...

Start>Control Panel>Network Connections> right click the connection you want to use and select properties.....

Highlight " Internet Protocol TCP/IP" and select the properties.....

Check the "Obtain an IP address automatically, and "Obtain DNS server address automatically....

I don't think (s)he means the IP address for the net - as the ISP allocates that, and tells you whether you've got a static or dynamic one.

Point taken, so what is it (s)he wants???

I was assuming that (s)he has a RJ45 connector on the router.....

And that the ISP give's a dymanic IP address...
