Error: "NAV was unable to scan your computer "

I have Norton SystemWorks 2003 and Norton Internet Security 2005 on my Computer running win XP SP2 installed.
Every time I run a full virus scan on my hard disk it ends with the following error notice “Norton AntiVirus was unable to scan your computer for infections. The virus scan failed because some Norton AntiVirus components are missing." In the lower-left corner of the error display alert, I see the numbers 3019, 6
I have clicked on the link to go to the Symantec Technical Support Knowledge Base and followed all their instructions. I also e-mailed Symantec, but they did not help me. Has anyone else come across this problem?
