error message after backup

I have just bought a Freecom external hard drive, for backup use only. Im using it as my destination drive, and my backup program is Syncback.

For 1 reason or another I formatted the hard drive becuase I thought it might cure other issues I had. It did cure these issues, and the backup works fine except for one problem.

The log report after the backup shows an error. It says G:\system volume information\ error - scan failed (5): Access is denied

What does this mean, what's it's affects, and does and can I cure it?

Is G: the Freecom drive? If so you should turn off System Restore on it.

Right click My Computer, Properties, System Restore tab, Click on G:, Settings button.

Yes G: is the freecom drive. Can I ask why I need to turn system restore off on it?

Well (a) you don't need it on that drive click here and (b) that is the cause of the error message.
