Error 404 when accessing Google and other major se

When I type in'click here' I get a 404 message and a re-direct to a site 'click here'.It suggests that a virus named 'Qhost' has brought me there.
It offers a re-direct to 4 major search engines including Google but these re-directs don't work. Therefore I can't access these search engines at all. I am using Windows XP and Internet Explorer v6.0. I have downloaded SP2 for XP but this problem existed before SP2. I have anti-virus and no virus has been detected.

It's probably a hijack, something similar to this: click here

It seems to be doing the rounds again, as its not strictly a virus your A/V might not pick it up, try running Spybot or Adaware, some kind person will give the links, as I don't have them here at work. Also check in your Hosts file as in my link, I suspect you'll see a whole list of other sites listed there.
