Epson Stylus S20 printer

I have just installed a new black ink cartridge but now the printer has decided I also need to replace the cyan cartridge. I only print b/w documents so is there any way of getting the printer to work without replacing the colour cartridges?

All colours are reqired to be functioning
eve if you are printing 'black' only

With general purpose printers such as this - 'Black' is a sort of green/grey- to obtain true black all colours must overprint each other.

Pity - looks like I will have to go back to a Lexmark printer. Hey ho.

It works with only a black cartridge and compatible or refills at that. All I want is a basic printer, no fancy graphics of colour images.

Any suggestions for a better alternative are welcome.
