i am trying to install an epson perfection 1250 scanner that has previously been installed on my pc, a dell running xp. very soon into the installation it all stops and i get -

Description: dll function call crashed:escanex

Set up will now terminate.

if you terminate it ,it appears to carry on installing but when you try to use the scanner it says twain driver not installed

Is it going back on the XP computer. I have one of these scanners. If you are trying to load it to a Vist Computer then first go to Epson for Vista Drivers Select OS from drop down click here

PS you have to reboot after loading a Twain Driver for it to work

With Epson scanners you need to instal the driver before the scanner is physically connected to the PC. So uninstall the scanner and all its drivers. Unplug the USB connection and the power connection then reinstall the driver, plug in the USB and switch on or plug in the power and follow the on screen instructions. You can get the procedure from the FAQ here click here you can also download the driver if you need it and the manual.
