Epson C40 wont print

Windows XP
Mb Gigabyte GA-8SISML

Trying to help out a friend...

When sending to print, whatever the programme the document sits in queue no output. Nothing obvious on printer (connected/ink/paper/no warning lights)

Connected via USB/checked as default printer/online/drivers installed

Device manager shows no USB issue

have tried all the obvious things wonder whether there might be something going on with USB connectivity. On Epson support there does seem an issue with SiS chipset/USB but wanted to exhaust other option before trying a patch on USB controllers.

It's been a while since i owned an epson, but i often had issues with it 'printing to file' rather than usb. Trawl throgh the settings and make sure the printer is set to print to usb0001 or something similar.
