epson 1520 inkjet drivers and XP

  greybeard 00:14 30 Dec 2003

I'm trying to install an epson 1520 inkjet printer onto my new Toshiba laptop running xp home.
It will use a generic driver from its own library(?) but doesn't give me all the options(eg printing at 1440 is missing).
The latest driver that I've downloaded from epson is designed for win98, and nothing specifically for xp is available.
I have not been able to install the update onto the laptop.
Any and all advice would be most welcome.

click here Found this one from Epson for win. 2000. Should work OK with XP.

Click on the link, then click on the download library. Select your printer then win. 2000 as the operating system. The driver there will most likely work fine with XP.

Djohn, I'll give it a try.
Having finally taken the plunge of moving from 98 to xp, I hadn't thought of trying the other systems. I'll add a "resolved" this evening if all goes well.

The driver for 2000 is the same as 98, file for file.
However, I uninstalled epson, then started again and this time xp accepted the 1520, and installed a suitable driver !!!
I put it down to festive spirit.
But I must say that I prefer Epson's own print manager window - the xp window looks like it was designed by an apprentice with vbasic.
Thanks again.
