The crunch is being "just over a year old." Try to see if a rest with everything switched of recovers things.
If the fault persists then the error message probably tells it all,- but first have a look in the handbook........... There may be a self test possible. When there is, it is usually with the PC off,....... then hold down a particular button and switch just the printer on.
If you keep getting the error message, make a note of what it is, and then try the phoning Epson helpline tomorrow. They will probably confirm a vastly expensive repair to be necessary, but at least you won't be left wondering.
