I was buying a new laptop but i cannot find my encryption code for my wireless network, is there a way around this?

No! That's the idea of encryption. You need to enter the router config, navigate to the wireless security settings and replace the ****** with a new passkey. I strongly suggest that your first open Notepad and create the key in that; select it (Ctrl + A) and copy it (Ctrl + C), then save the file. Go to your router config and paste (Ctrl + V) the key into the box (or boxes, if there are two).

Then do the same copy/paste routine when you first connect a wireless client with the new key.

Plenty of leters, numbers and symbols (20 +) should be used.

Thanks ade.h
I will take another good look to see if i can find the original code first, then if not I will do as you say

I should add that some routers - such as 3Com - have an option to turn off the obfuscation, so that you can see the key.
