Hey I have a Ecot online school computer running windows 7 professional and recently the school has been suspended and I'm left with a computer with many restrictions I wanted to know if there's a way to bypass the restrictions or gets admin access or maybe reset the computer completely.
I would just be careful. Does the computer actually belong to the school. If so then don't touch it as the school will probably take it back and sell it to pay off its creditors. If it is yours by right then follow Fruit Bat's advice.
ECOT has officially notified parents that they are allowed to keep the equipment, stating:
"Updated: 2/23/2018 How will we return our equipment?
The court has ordered that all equipment be abandoned due to the cost of recovery. Therefore, you may do whatever you see fit with your computer, laptops, tablets, and related educational equipment. Whatever equipment you have in your possession will not be collected by ECOT."
This has been something of a cause célèbre since late last year. As Jennifer Johnson (jrosejohnson) has said, the court has ruled that IT equipment is no longer school property, and may be retained or disposed of by parents.
I knew of this but the computer still has restrictions on it and now none of us who have an Ecot computer can use it because our usernames and passwords don't work anymore so is there a way to reset the computer.
